Newsreader Kate Silverton is usually surrounded by studio lights and TV cameras.

But the BBC presenter has also embraced the sea air and is the proud owner of one of 17 new beach huts which have been built at Hove Lagoon.

If you look carefully in this picture, you can just make out the journalist amongst the other new owners.

Waves of buyers lapped up the beach huts for £12,000 each within three weeks of them going on the market and they have now received their keys.

The beach huts were the first to be offered to residents by Brighton and Hove City Council in more than a decade.

Miss Silverton's partner is believed to have bought the beach hut for the couple to enjoy.

The BBC and Miss Silverton were unavailable for comment.
