An appeal date for a councillor who was threatened with suspension for putting webcasts of council meetings on YouTube has been set.

Brighton and Hove city councillor Jason Kitcat was ticked off by the authority’s standards committee assessment panel in July.

Coun Kitcat was found to have breached the members’ code of conduct after uploading five clips of meetings to the website and could have faced a six-month suspension.

But after he appealed, the Tribunals Service for Local Government Standards in England agreed to freeze possible sanctions until a hearing.

A hearing will take place at November 3 at the Hilton Metropole from 9.30am.
