Strictly Come Dancing’s most acid-tongued judge is taking to the stage for a panto.

Craig Revel Horwood will turn the venom he has unleashed on Ann Widdicombe on to Snow White as he plays the Wicked Queen at the Hawth in Crawley.

He told The Argus the character of the Queen suits him, saying: “It’s a role that is close to my heart.”

The 45-year-old dancer and theatre director will be balancing the performances with filming of Strictly, which doesn’t finish until January 2.

He said: “It will be exhausting but fun. I’ll be getting overnight cars between Crawley and London so I can be there for filming first thing in the morning.”

On the issue of Conservative politician Ann Widdecombe’s two left feet, which scored the lowest ever score on the show, he said: “She needs to dance better in my mind.

She needs to apply herself rather than being the comic clown. Dancing is hard graft.”
