Big hearted bikers teamed up with a local Charity at the Annual Brightona Motorbike festival on sunday to raise over £25,000 for The Sussex Heart Charity.

The events in its seventh year and runs annually on the second Sunday of October. Charity event Organiser Terry Ayres said that it had been “the most successful year so far”. He adds: “It’s a Sussex event, organised by Sussex people, for a Sussex charity”.

It was the first year they has a Mod stage with live music which worked well, Terry said: “the Mod stage was successful and I think is something we’ll continue to do”.

Bikers travelled from as far a field as Dorset to come to the event, it was Tony Easterby and his family’s first year at the Brightona event. He travelled up on his custom built 1300 Metro Auto “Betty” from Southampton and said he: “thoroughly enjoyed the day”.

This year’s Brightona winner “Ugly Mick” proudly showed off his prize winning Yamaha V Max. Mick goes to lots of bike shows every year such as The Renegades, Southern Comfort and BMF at Detling.

He has recently come back from the Yamaha Motor France Parade, but jokingly said that he “prefers this one, its English”.

Organiser Terry said a “big thank you to all those who worked hard today and throughout the year”. All the proceeds made today will go towards helping cardio patients and buying vital equipment.
