I would like to know who is responsible for coordinating traffic flow in East Sussex and have them fired!

It was announced that commencing October 4 there would be roadworks on the A27, just after the Ashcombe Roundabout for 11 weeks – which would put extra traffic onto the A259.

At the same time it was announced that the traffic lights on the Falmer Road at Woodingdean would be worked on for four weeks, also commencing on October 4.

As the Falmer Road is one of the few roads that lead to the A259 coast road from the A27, these simultaneous roadworks have brought chaos to the area.

Whoever is responsible for coordinating traffic flow obviously doesn’t live in Rottingdean, Saltdean, Peacehaven or Newhaven or they would never have allowed the roadworks to commence at the same time.

We now have a choice of spending up to an hour in the early evening on the A27 approaching the Ashcombe Roundabout, or an hour on the Falmer Road, or weave our way around Brighton to get onto the A259, but this too can add an hour to our journey.

All the roads around Lewes are now clogged as is the A259. And now the A259 at Exceat Hill will have roadworks for the next four days.
