I’m writing to make a plea to the moaning minority at Withdean who seem to dislike our fluid, passing game.

If you want to grumble and beg for the long-ball game of the past, can you keep it to yourself? Obviously if Gus Poyet is mentioning it in his post-match interviews then he’s picking up on it and the players must be too. I don’t see what there is to moan about.

The greatest sides in the world win games by playing progressive passing football, pulling teams apart and getting a killer goal. When was the last time you saw a team worth their salt playing route one football?

So please keep it to yourself – or if it bothers you that much stop coming. Given the current attendances at Withdean I’m sure it won’t be hard to find someone else to fill your seat.
