On September 4 I had a letter published noting the football goals at Sompting Recreation Ground were in desperate need of a coat of paint.
I even offered to supply the paint and do the job myself but then realised I would be in trouble with health and safety.
This past weekend I was again at Sompting Recreation Ground to watch a youth football match. Lo and behold– both football pitches had been furnished with new goals.
May I, on behalf of all who use those football pitches, say a big thank you to the authority concerned? The new goals look great and the football teams appreciate them.
I wonder if this was a case of a letter to The Argus jerking someone into action or whether new goals had already been planned for the ground?
