Police are preparing to face anti-arms activists this morning, with hundreds expected to take to the streets.
No disturbances were reported last night as Smash EDO protesters gathered at the Cowley Club on London Road, Brighton.
Activists had been warned to prevent officers entering their "convergence space" at Wildkatz Social Cafe near Stanmer Park, but a police spokesman said there had been no call-outs.
The protest against defence manufacturer EDO's factory in Moulescoomb will begin at nearby Wild Park Cafe from 10am.
Organisers have refused to reveal further plans for today's "siege" of the factory.
