A pensioner has become the 20th motorcyclist to die on Sussex's roads this year after he was involved in a collision with a van.
The 65-year-old man from Eastbourne died in a crash on the A259 Marsh Road at the junction of the B2095 on Monday.
His motorbike collided with a Ford Fiesta van at just after 7pm.
He was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The van driver, a 49-year-old man from Worthing, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has since been released on bail.
The death takes the total number of motorbike fatalities on Sussex roads to 20, with a further 167 bikers having suffered serious injuries in the same period.
