A man in his 60s was badly injured in an accident while working on a tractor near Hailsham.
He was taken to hospital by helicopter this morning after becoming trapped beneath the vehicle.
Firefighters were called to the Curtis and Shaw site in Cowbeech, near Hailsham, at about 11am.
He remained trapped for more than 20 minutes before they could free him.
Paramedics said he had suffered serious head and back injuries.
He was taken by Surrey Air Ambulance to King’s College Hospital in London.
Sussex Police said they were satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances and the accident was not work-related.
