A popular GP whose patients launched a campaign to get him reinstated says he has been “overwhelmed and humbled” by the support from the community.
Jim Oliver has now left the Meads Surgery in Uckfield and moved to new premises three miles away in Buxted.
Almost 2,000 of his patients have transferred to the new surgery so that they can continue to be treated by him.
Dr Oliver, 50, said he was committed to serving the community in Uckfield for years to come.
The move came after Dr Oliver was told he could no longer work at the Meads Surgery following an internal dispute three months ago.
Patients set up a Facebook campaign and petition and held a march through Uckfield calling for Dr Oliver to be reinstated.
He has now moved to Buxted and East Hoathly Surgery.
