A woman who died yesterday after plunging 50ft onto a railway line at Hastings has been named.
Michelle Hudson, 25, of Holmesdale Gardens, Hastings, died at the Conquest Hospital, St Leonards, on Monday.
She suffered massive head injuries when she fell from a bridge in Linton Road on Sunday morning.
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and has been released on bail until March 24.
Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Bowles, of the Sussex Police major crime branch is leading the police inquiry.
He said: "We are treating this as a suspicious death and extensive local enquiries are continuing in the area."
Anyone who was in the area shortly before 4am and saw what happened is asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Bedworth.
