An army veteran waiting for a hip replacement has had his operation cancelled ten times.
Michael Maltby-Griffiths, 72, was first scheduled to have the operation at Worthing Hospital last June.
Since then nine more procedures have been planned but then cancelled at Worthing Hospital and St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.
His latest operation was due on Thursday last week, but when he called to check everything would be going ahead the night before, he was shocked to be told it was going to be put off yet again.
Mr Maltby-Griffiths, of Downside, Shoreham, said he just wanted to be able to get back to taking care of his wife and playing golf.
Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs St Richard's and Worthing, was unavailable for comment.
