The friends and family of a woman who plunged 50ft from a rail bridge shared their grief at her death.

Michelle Hudson’s loved ones left flowers at the spot where she fell in Hastings and paid tribute after she died of massive head injuries in hospital.

Detectives, who are treating her death as suspicious, have arrested and bailed a man over the incident.

Miss Hudson, 25, of Holmesdale Gardens, Hastings, died at the Conquest Hospital, St Leonards, on Monday.

She had been found on the tracks below Linton Road shortly before 4am on Sunday. A 21-year-old man, with whom she is believed to have been in a relationship, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and released on bail without charge until March 24.

The bridge is just a minute's walk from the street where Miss Hudson lived.

Her mother and sisters were too distraught to talk at their homes in Bexhill yesterday.

Friend Amy Martin left the following message on Miss Hudson’s Facebook page: “RIP my best mate Michelle Hudson, u was one in a million the amounts of laughs we shared and tears on each others shoulders, i will miss u so much, you will be forever in my heart, i will never forget you! love u always.”
