While standing on North Street the other day, I noticed several buses passing by.

On a number 25 there was a window sticker advertising Saver prices of £2.50 and weekly rates of £8.

These prices were, apparently, only available on this route and the night buses serving the universities.

While I appreciate the problems faced by students nationally, is it really correct to offer a daily reduction of 53% and a weekly reduction of 52% for passengers on just one service, many of whom might not be members of said demographic group?

I have no general axe to grind with the Brighton and Hove Bus Company. In fact, I have gone on record as saying that they have done quite a good job in keeping their costs of the use of public transport low and accessible. However, surely this discount could be made available on other routes?
