A toddler was killed after her mother lost control of her car and skidded into an oncoming van.
Two-year-old Eloise Mann, who was travelling with her twin Finlay and mother Ann, died of multiple injuries after the Fiat Doblo hit the Citroen van at 50mph on the A27 Pevensey bypass.
An inquest at Eastbourne was told the family, of Tower Road, St Leonards, had been driving in wet conditions when the crash happened.
The Fiat Doblo spun 360 degrees before hitting the grass verge and skidding on the wrong side of the road.
Extracts from two police interviews were read during the inquest in which Mrs Mann said she could “only offer guesses” as to how she lost control of the car.
East Sussex deputy coroner Joanna Pratt recorded a verdict of accidental death.
