A teenager was left with cuts and bruises after being assaulted by a group of youths.
The 17-year-old was attacked as he walked through Eastbourne town centre towards Trinity Trees and Seaside Road.
One of the group of teenagers punched and kicked the victim when he was on the ground before the gang ran off towards the seafront.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the attack on Friday at about 6pm.
PC Lisa Howes said: "This was an unprovoked violent attack on a lone teenager leaving him with cuts and bruises to his face. We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack."
The main suspect is described as mixed race, 16 or 17-years-old and between 5ft 4in and 5ft 6in tall with very short black hair.
He was wearing a black hooded top, tracksuit bottoms, Nike trainers and a black 'JD' sports bag.
The other suspect is white, about 15-years-old, who wore dark clothing is between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall.
