The next healthwalk dedicated to carers run in partnership with the Carer's Centre is on Saturday, February 5 at 11am. Healthwalks are designed to introduce carers to the health benefits of walking, provide a break from caring for relatives or loved ones, and hopefully lead them on to the regular healthwalks programme.

The meeting point is outside Saltdean Library on Saltdean Park Road (finishing at the Marina) and there will be volunteer healthwalk leaders and a local health trainer to lead the walk. The walk is three miles along the undercliff and is wheelchair and buggy accessible.

Carers can arrange free respite care to enable them to attend the walk. To do so they just need to call Access Point on 01273 295555.

This can take a couple of weeks to process, but I believe it can be backdated and they can use this one contact to book respite care for all our walks at once (see list of future dates below): Other carers' walks (all wheelchair and pushchair friendly):

  • Wednesday March 2nd: meet at Rotunda Café, Preston Park at 11am
  • Saturday April 2nd: meet at the corner of Ladies Mile Road and Old
  • London Road (opposite the Co-op) at 11am
  • Wednesday May 4th: meet at Hove Park café at 11am
