A stolen car was torched in West Sussex.
The vehicle in Tower Road, Colgate, near Horsham, was discovered burning at 8.30pm yesterday.
Firefighters from Horsham station attended and put the blaze out but could not save the vehicle.
One firefighter said: “It was completely destroyed.
“We believe it was set alight – it was arson.”
A Sussex Police spokesman said the car had previously been stolen from elsewhere in the area.
He said: “We were called at 8.50pm by the fire service following a report that a car - a silver Peugeot 307 - had been deliberately set fire to.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish who the vehicle belonged to and the circumstances of the arson.”
