A road connecting Sussex to Surrey has been closed most of this morning.
Police have closed the A286 between Midhurst and Haselmere following two unrelated incidents.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "The first concerns a gas leak in the Surrey area and the second the theft of electrical cable from a sub station in Sussex.
"The Electricity Board is currently on the scene to ensure the area is safe, although it is unknown how long the road will be closed for."
