I was dismayed to hear about the allegations directed at Adenstar's Derek Chapman and Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott (The Argus, July 31). Norman Baker should get his facts right before making underhand comments about Falmer stadium.
I was at the meeting in question, working for the catering company which provided food and drink for Adenstar.
John Prescott arrived, shook a few hands, made the usual small talk, made a speech, then left.
At no time did he mention Falmer or anything remotely to do with the stadium.
His Special Branch body guards told me, "He's got a few of these to do today," so he was in a hurry to get elsewhere.
At no time did he leave the room with anyone else.
I am prepared to make a statement in court to this effect. The anti-Falmer brigade seems to be stooping lower and lower with their smoke and mirror tactics.
