Paramedics spent 20 minutes stuck in a lift at a block of flats where a man was found dead.
Four ambulance staff had to be released by firefighters minutes before Tony Virgo, 53, was found at his flat in Chadborn Close, Brighton, on Monday morning.
Mr Virgo's identity was confirmed yesterday as Sussex Police said a post-mortem examination failed to give a conclusive cause of his death.
His brother, Philip, 55, was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail.
But Sussex Police have now said he will not face any action over the death.
Officers are waiting for the results of toxicology tests, which show the levels of different substances in the body, to find out how Tony Virgo died.
