It is drummed into motorists from day one that they must keep their full attention on the road at all times. This is why the use of mobile phones while driving is banned.
With this in mind, I am forced to wonder which bright spark at Sussex Police decided lamp standards were the place to post small notices with quite a lot of writing on them, their message apparently aimed at passing motorists?
I regularly pass two on the busy A27/A23 interchange at Patcham and I have seen others in London Road where, due to the bus lane, drivers have even less chance of reading them.
The only possible way to read them in full would be to stop the car and get out, which is not a good idea at either of these locations.
Despite passing them many times, I still have no idea what their message is - I trust it is not about road safety.
