I noticed your picture of St James's Street (The Argus, July 29) shows plenty of pedestrians.
This is not surprising as traffic there is usually slow.
When I am on my way to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, I notice many people at the stops in St James's Street who, like myself, alight at the hospital stop.
After all, there is the eye hospital, the outpatients' building which is always well attended, the old hospital which now houses the ear, nose and throat unit and, if you take the lift to the second floor to reach it, you only have to walk to the top, cross the road and take a lift and you are in the new block, saving a long walk or taxi fare.
So, please, leave St James's Street alone. It's all right as it is.
I am 91 but still fighting.
