A group of travellers facing eviction from their camp say it would be a “human rights outrage” if they are forced out.
The three appealed against a Brighton and Hove City Council possession order in court yesterday.
Stephen Cottle, representing the group, argued during the hearing at Brighton County Court that an eviction would affect their human rights.
He said that under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act the council should protect the travellers' right to home and family life.
The group of caravan dwellers pitched up on land next to Coldean Lane, in Brighton, last year.
Recorder Jan Luba QC reserved judgement at the end of the hearing and is due to announce his decision by the end of next week.
