Peeved cyclists have decided to name and shame motorists abandoning their vehicles in bike lanes.

For years, those on two wheels have complained about swerving into busy traffic when drivers leave their cars and vans in the designated cycle path.

Fed up with a lack of enforcement, cyclists are now being encouraged to snap motorists apparently breaking the law and post the pictures with details of its registration plate to a special website.

One car, a silver Audi, has already been pictured in exactly the same position in a cycle lane in Lewes Road, Brighton, six times.

But motorists fear the news will heighten tensions between the road users which are already at breaking point.
