While I agree about car drivers failing to indicate when turning left, I feel cyclist J Guy is the pot calling the kettle black (Letters, August 2).

I walk everywhere in Brighton and Hove and, in the many years I have lived here, I can count on one hand the number of cyclists I have seen using hand signals.

For pedestrians, crossing at any road junction is risky because, while many cars fail to indicate, this pales into insignificance when compared to the number of cyclists who do the same.

J Guy was almost hit by non-indicating drivers twice in three weeks - well, I run that gauntlet with cyclists on a daily basis.

So, to all road-users on wheels, please be more considerate when using our roads and spare a thought for those of us who are not mind-readers.
