Crawley goes Irish for the whole weekend with music, theatre, sport and dance.

The Celtic and Irish Cultural Society is expanding its established Crawley Irish Festival, now in its 11th year.

An additional open-air concert, Celtic Rock In The Park, will provide a mix of contemporary Irish music tomorrow, the night before the main event.

The rock event will see live music from Lime House Lizzy, Thin Lizzy tribute, as well as Emerald Dogs, named best live act at the Irish Press Awards. They will play original songs and popular tunes from across the globe - given that irresistible Irish touch.

Sunday's Irish Festival, which attracted 10,000 people last year, will have a charming mix of sport, dance, theatre, children's entertainment and traditional and contemporary music.

The Cappagh stage will showcase some of the best acts from Britain and Ireland, while the Clarion stage features the best local acts.

The FDL stage will host an open dance competition.

There will be Gaelic football and hurling matches in the GAA Sport arena.

All proceeds from the Crawley Irish Festival are invested in community projects to assist in the promotion of Celtic and Irish cultural activities in and around Crawley Organisers promote several-Irish themed events in the South-East, with the aim of introducing the culture to a much wider audience.
