Made-to-measure gowns, glitzy accessories and fabulous shoes.

No, we're not talking about Ladies Day or Pride, which have both been and gone. This glam event is a fancy dress picnic - for dogs. Bexhill Bow Wow (tomorrow, 2pm-5pm, free) is part of the De La Warr Pavilion's bank holiday weekender.

In what must be the canine social event of the year, owners are encouraged to make a costume and bring it along, on a dog. It's inspired by Macey's Pet-Acular, the annual Easter bonnet parade for dogs in New York.

The fun will include live music from band Johnny And The Wags We still can't decide if this is wacky fun or plain weird but it will be worth a look either way.

Other unusual entertainment includes Acid Brass (tomorrow, 7.30pm, free), an evening of music from the award-winning Fairey Band.

The 32-piece brass band from Stockport formed in 1937 and has been named National Champion Band of Great Britain 16 times. But rather than the usual show tunes or marches, the band will play some acid house numbers. In partnership with artist Jeremy Deller, this project has taken the band to dance festivals and MTV studios and has to be heard to be believed.

On Sunday, things start at noon, with Radiator Arts and The Sambalanco Samba Band. This is a colourful combination of street art, samba sounds, costumes and music.

The Fairey Brass make a return, this time playing more traditional music from the bandstand (1pm & 3pm).

There is also physical theatre, comedy, song and dance from the theatre company Hoodwink (2.15pm & 4.30pm). Their show, Gastronomic, sees two waiters try to serve lunch to a solitary diner but be thwarted by runaway puddings, exploding fish and grumpy tables.

The final event of the weekend is a free salsa and Cuban party, El Equipo (7pm-10pm), with top musicians from the Latin American scene.
