Video: A man in his 50s has been found murdered at his home.

Police officers were called to the flat in Gloucester Street, Brighton, at 2.10am today, after the man was found dead by friends.

The man had head injuries and detectives from the Sussex Police Major Crime Branch, led by Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Bowles, are investigating.

No arrests have been made and the street has been cordoned off at both ends while police carry out their investigation.

Mr Bowles said: “We are treating his death as murder but the inquiry is in its very early stages and we are not in a position to release any more information at this time.

“However, we are keen to hear from anyone who was in or around Gloucester Street in the north Laine area of the city centre in the early hours of this morning and who saw anything suspicious.”
