Detectives believe two men could hold vital information about the disappearance of Brighton father Gary Hampson.

Officers now want to talk to Dan Alexander, 60, of no fixed address, and Roy Bartup, 57, of Natal Road, Brighton, in relation to the disappearance of 42-yyear-old Mr Hampson.

Mr Hampson, of Old Shoreham Road, Portslade, was last seen picking his ten-year-old daughter up from school and dropping her home on January 6.

Three days later his phone was switched off.

Police opened a murder investigation after Mr Hampson’s blood was found in his former workplace, the Kop Cars Shop in Little Western Street, Brighton.

Detective Inspector Phil Mays, who is handling the investigation for Sussex Police major crime branch, said: “There are a number of people we would like to speak to who knew Gary very well, including ex-business partner Dan Alexander and his friend Roy Bartup.

“I am appealing directly to Roy and Dan and to anyone who may have seen them to contact police immediately.

"Any information, however insignificant it may seem, could help solve the mystery of Gary's disappearance and bring long-awaited relief to his family."

A 48-year-old-man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail until May 11.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 quoting Operation Jubilee or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
