The pub industry has changed dramatically over the years.
But one man has embarked on an ambitious challenge to visit 300 watering holes in Brighton and Hove to see the changes for himself.
Rob Orchard, 36, is using a 1970s Olympus Trip camera and the keen photographer has already snapped more than 50 pubs.
Rob, of Milner Road, Brighton, is approaching the task scientifically with an extensive spreadsheet locating each pub by postcode.
The seeds of the idea were first sewn when Rob came to Brighton to study in 1992 and he was told there were more pubs than there were days of the year, which as an impressionable 18-year-old, he thought was a brilliant fact.
The idea resurfaced last year when he spotted a Facebook group that posted old photos of pubs dating back to the 1980s.
Once he has completed his project by the end of the summer, Rob hopes to match his photos up with a collection of pictures taken at the turn of the twentieth century to highlight the ills of drinking.
These photos are currently owned by the Magic Lantern Society and stored at the University of Brighton.
