A man who fell asleep while cooking his Sunday lunch had a lucky escape.
Fire crews were called to Eaton Manor, off The Drive in Hove, at just after 1pm, following reports of smoke.
They eventually managed to rouse the occupant and put out the smouldering pan. The 35-year-old man was treated by ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.
A spokesman said it underlined the dangers of pans being left unattended.
