Disabled former stuntman Eddie Kidd is one week into his heroic marathon effort.

The 51-year-old Seaford resident, who was left paralysed and brain damaged after an accident in 1996, is expected to take a month to complete the London Marathon course.

But he is facing another battle to secure his disability benefits, which he fears he will lose.

An assessment of his care is currently being carried out by East Sussex County Council and Eddie fears he will lose some of his care package, which he says is vital to have any kind of independence.

A council spokesman said clients were regularly assessed to ensure they were getting care appropriate to their needs.
