A teenager who planned her own funeral after being diagnosed with terminal cancer has lost her fight against the disease.

Donna Shaw made headlines after it was revealed she had already planned how she wanted to spend her last months after learning her bone cancer was untreatable.

The 17-year-old, from Alvaston, Derby, told family she wanted her ashes scattered by the Palace Pier in Brighton, close to where her beloved grandparents live.

She died last week with her parents by her side.

Suzanne Turner, of Davey Drive, Brighton, previously said of her granddaughter that she 'probably has more guts than the rest of us put together'.

Donna was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma last year but learned in January that doctors had decided to stop all treatment.
