PEOPLE passing council offices in Uckfield this morning could not help but notice parked on the pavement a 2.7-litre black Audi with a sign in its front window marked “official car of the chairman of East Sussex County Council”.
Some of the comments were unprintable, most of a despairing nature.
Is it too much to hope that councils might make a public statement as to the cuts they intend to make to the salaries and perks of senior members of staff? Or are we all to continue swimming in a sea of growing anger and cynicism?
