A man was blinded after bleach was thrown in his face in a horrific unprovoked attack.
The 61-year-old was walking home near a children’s playground in Burgess Hill when a stranger wearing a hooded top threw the toxic substance in his face.
The assault left him blinded but he was able to feel his way to a nearby resident’s home where the police and paramedics were called.
The victim was last night still in considerable pain and it is unsure whether his sight will ever return after suffering burns to his eyelids.
