Members of the Sussex Police rugby team pulled a riot van for 26.2 miles to raise money for Help for Heroes.
The marathon nine-hour pull along Brighton and Hove seafront involved towing the three-and-a-half-ton Mercedes van backwards and forwards between mile markers.
PC Andy Dunkling came up with the fundraising idea after the death in Afghanistan of his friend, Lance Corporal Michael Pritchard, of the 4th Regiment, Royal Military Police, in December 2009.
