Police have located a car they believe was used in the theft of jewels worth £180,000 from a travelling salesman.

Forensic tests are now being carried out on a VW Passatt which was found parked in Storrington following a media appeal.

The salesman had pearls worth £180,000 stolen from the boot of his black Audi A4 estate while he visited a client in North Street, Storrington on Wednesday May 4.

Two men smashed their way through the back windscreen and removed four briefcases and one plastic box containing long strings of pearls.

Each of the strings had a tag attached showing a picture of a pearl diver and the company name of DI PERLE.
