A man has appeared in court charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft by trying to open the door.
Thomas Lewis Hughes, 56, of Tyn Caeau Estate, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Gwynedd, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
He has been charged over an incident on a Monarch Airlines flight from Mombassa to Gatwick on May 25, 2010, when he allegedly attempted to open an exit door while the aircraft was in flight.
He was remanded on bail to appear for committal proceedings on Thursday June 30.
