Homes for 20 students could be built above a doctor’s surgery.
Hove based WP Properties has applied to construct the additional rooms on two floors above the existing Willow Surgery in Heath Hill Avenue, Brighton.
The proposal to Brighton and Hove City Council includes renovating the existing medical facility with the addition of a three-bedroom ground floor flat.
Plans for seven flats above the new doctors were approved in 2008.
But the revised scheme has been designed in close consultation with Brighton University, who is the intended user of the student flats.
Neighbours are currently being consulted on the plans and a decision is expected by the end of June.
