A man has been charged with stabbing a man in Hove.
Earl Martin, 32, of Salisbury Road, Hove, has been charged with gbh and has been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton magistrates tomorrow.
The victim, a 28-year old local man, who had been found in the street in Harmsworth Crescent shortly after 5.30am on Saturday, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where he underwent surgery.
He remains in a critical condition.
Detective Inspector John Wallace said; "We are still seeking witnesses from Harmsworth Crescent and the surrounding areas including West Way, who may have seen or heard anything of the attack or anyone fleeing the scene. We believe the attack may have begun inside a flat in the Crescent."
