An eruption from an Icelandic volcano has led to the cancellation of some flights at Gatwick.
Keflavik Airport in Iceland has been closed following an eruption of the country’s most active volcano sent plumes of smoke 12 miles into the air yesterday.
A flight from Gatwick was due in at the Keflavik airport at around 4pm this afternoon.
All other Gatwick flights are so far unaffected by the eruption.
Icelandic officials have said they do not expect there to be the same level of disruption as that caused by Eyjafjallajokul’s eruption last year.
