Fire services have been tied up with tree arsons this evening.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue had to send several appliances to two separate trees that were on fire within minutes of each other in the Crawley area.
The first, in Grattons Drive, Pound Hill, was reported at 17.24. A second, in Till Gate was then reported ten minutes later.
A spokesman said : 'One of the fires was actually quite deep seated, which is hard to do on a day when it is not particularly dry.'
Both were deliberate ignitions.
