Sussex Police are turning to a national TV audience to try and find the sex attacker responsible for the rape of a 17-year-old girl in February.

A reconstruction of the incident in Dyke Road Park, Brighton at 12.15am on Tuesday February 15 will form part of the appeal on BBC’s Crimewatch tonight.

CCTV footage of the incident where a 17-year-old girl was dragged across Dyke Road and into the park will also be shown.

Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Bowles of Sussex Police Major Crime Branch said: "We are turning to the national audience to appeal for new leads as to who is responsible for this dreadful crime.

"There have been no further linked attacks in Brighton and that is why I feel it is important to broaden our appeal to enable us to gain the widest possible coverage of this attack, seek further witnesses and bring the offender to justice."

Anyone with information that could help police with their enquires is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Dublin.
