Around 100 homes were left without water after a water main burst.
South East Water engineers were called out to the water main in Maple Drive, Burgess Hill in the early hours of this morning.
Water was rerouted to supply some homes but around 100 were forced to cope with an emergency supply of bottled water until around 10.30am.
A South East Water spokeswoman said: “We are sorry for the disruption this emergency work caused and would like to thank those customers who were affected for their patience and support for which we are extremely grateful”.
