A community campaign group has entered an art deco lido into a competition to win £5,000.

There are just five days left to vote for Saltdean Lido in The Co-operative revolution contest.

The Friends of Saltdean Lido have entered the grade II*-listed building and hope to use the prize money, should they win, towards setting up a volunteer programme to harness and develop skills.

These skills would be used to help run the lido as a community facility.

People have just four days left to vote for the lido which is just a few hundred votes behind the leader.

Rebecca Crook, chair woman of Friends of Saltdean Lido, said: “The money would make a huge difference to our fund raising efforts and would enable us to set up a structured volunteer programme to help involve the entire community.

“Anyone with an interest in art deco architecture, swimming, community initiatives and the campaign to save Saltdean Lido should vote for us.”
