THE FAILURE of both previous city administrations, Labour and Conservative, to implement a viable park and ride system is one of the reasons they both lost power.
To resource a park and ride system is a green policy, as it keeps cars from polluting the city centre and is therefore urgent for this city.
The strangest part of all this is that Brighton and Hove Albion football club has helped operate an effective park and ride system on match days during their stay at the Withdean stadium.
It is therefore disappointing to read that the new Green administration will have to wait for a review on parking policy before it acts (The Argus, May 16).
I would ask the new administration to look at Salisbury and Norwich – it does not seem to have been a problem for them to set up an effective park and ride system.
