Two wheelie bins were set alight outside a house.
The bins in Rectory Road, Worthing were badly damaged by fire after they had been put out for collection.
A fire crew from Worthing were called to the blaze at 2.30am this morning.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire, which is being treated as suspicious, from spreading to the garden or the home.
