I AM an avid reader of The Argus, and witnessed first-hand the fantastic feat performed by the Sussex Police rugby team when they managed to pull a police riot van 27 miles along Brighton Seafront.

I was therefore totally perplexed on seeing the accompanying photograph to your story on this event in The Argus on Saturday, May 14.

The picture showed a railing and some bushes, but not much else.

I then read the same story in The Argus on Thursday, May 19, with a retraction and apology for publishing the photograph incorrectly.

Your correction read: “A production fault meant this photograph was not properly reproduced in Saturday’s Argus. We are happy to print the picture as it should have appeared”.

However, I found myself looking at the same photo of railings and a bush enlarged as printed on the Saturday.

What a complete farce and a real shame. These officers and the charity they support could have done with far better coverage from The Argus than they received.

As you seem to have had serious trouble printing your accompanying photograph correctly, I enclose one that I took.

Let’s hope it’s a case of third time lucky for your newspaper!
